Santa Fe Charter Schools Forum

On Thursday, the Santa Fe Higher Education Center, the Interfaith Coalition for Public Education and the Santa Fe New Mexican hosted a public forum on the state of charter schools in Santa Fe.  Four invited panelists discussed different viewpoints on the question: whether to impose a moratorium on new charter schools, or whether to create more of them.  The panelists are: Anne Salzmann, a board member with Monte Del Sol Charter School,  Katie Poulos, Director  for Options for Parents and Families with the state Department of Education,  Dr. Meredith Machen, with the NM League of Women Voters, and Dr. Veronica Garcia, Superintendent of Sante Fe public schools.
