It's become known simply as "The Conversation," the cautionary talk African-American parents have with their children about how to conduct themselves in the presence of police officers. Albuquerque civic leader Patrick Barrett of the Sankofa Men's Leadership Exchange told KSFR's Dave Marash on HERE AND THERE about his conversation with his 7-year-old daughter. Patrick Barrett of the Sankofa Men's Leadership Exchange in Albuquerque told Dave his conversations with members of the Albuquerque Police Department showed him a police force that feels understaffed, under-resourced and seemed all too ready to use its weapons.
