The ACLU Regional Center for border rights in Las Cruces just released a report called “Guilty Until Proven Innocent: Living in New Mexico’s 100 Mile Zone” which documents what residents along the border region have been living with in terms of police brutality and racial profiling. This week on Nuestra American, Marcela Diaz and ELSA LOPEZ spoke with Brian Erikson, a border policy strategist with the The ACLU Regional Center for border rights about the report. As Marcela indicated in the interview, federal policy has allowed the border patrol to act for years without any oversight.
