June 3 - Here and There - Arora

Project ECHO is revolutionizing health care in rural areas, by creating a video network that lets expert physicians at major medical centers like the University of New Mexico Hospital, where the Project was born, to teach best practices in their specialties. On the other end of the video stream are physicians, nurses and community health workers around the state, nation and world. Project ECHO is the creation of Dr.  SanjeevArora of the UNM Health Sciences Center. Arora told KSFR's Dave Marash on HERE AND THERE, that he first proved his networking system could work, by tackling one of New Mexico's most persistent medical problems, Hepatitis C.
