The Affordable Care Act’s essence is to provide health insurance to more Americans, and expand coverage for low-income and the elderly who either didn’t qualify or couldn’t afford expensive prescriptions. A study released today by Families USA shows two-times as many poor people in states like New Mexico are now covered since Medicaid expansion than in states that did not expand it.
