April 30 - High-level radiation storage site proposed for Southern New Mexico

Governor Suzanna Martinez recently wrote a letter  obtained by the Santa Fe New Mexican to Energy Secretary Moniz expressing her support for another underground storage facility -- but this time for the quote unquote interim storage of highly radioactive nuclear waste. 
 
The letter - and proposed disposal site -came as a surprise to many considering there has been little to no discussion or public input. Don Hancock of the Southwest Information and research center called the plan a very bad and untenable idea.  KSFR's Zelie Pollon has the story. Listen Here
