Ricardo Perez grew up in Venezuela and has lived in Santa Fe for 20 years. He originally hosted “JazzalaCarta” on KSFR from 2002 to 2012 before leaving for a work commitment. He returned to the station in spring of 2014, and listeners are glad to have him back.
Ricardo likes different types of music, but his favorite is jazz, and some of its many variations including vocals, big band and latin. He also likes Brazilian music, especially bossa novas. (Jazz Etc. host Helga Ancona got her start on KSFR co-hosting an hour of Brazilian music with Ricardo before taking over his oldFriday morning slot when he left in 2012.)
Ricardo tutors and teaches Spanish at Santa Fe Community College and also works as a gardener. .He’s also an avid record collector.
