Bob is past president of the Santa Fe Master Gardener Association and a life-long educator. After graduating from Cornell Univ. he joined the Peace Corps and taught science for three years in Malaysia. Following that he continued working and traveling in Japan, Hong Kong, India and Europe.
In the mid-‘70’s he returned to the States, got his Masters at Miami University (Ohio) and taught High School Biology and Environmental Science in Oxford and Cincinnati. He retired in 2004 and later moved to Santa Fe at which time he became involved with the Santa Fe Master Gardener program. He also raises chickens in their own adobe “casita” and has three top bar beehives. Gardening has always been an important part of his life and he enjoys sharing that enthusiasm with others.

Zimmerman bring a lively, entertaining, and interactive approach to the
challenge of gardening in our region. Each show features news, events, and
interviews with local gardening experts on a wide variety of seasonal
gardening topics. Each month show regular Jannine Cabossel, The Tomato
Lady at the Santa Fe Farmer's Market, joins Bob and Laurie to discuss what
to do in the garden in the coming month. Listeners are invited to call in
with their own gardening questions as well. The Garden Journal is a
